Overview
The facility
The 528-hectare lagoon island of Albarella is located in the middle of the Po Delta and is connected to the mainland by a causeway. Vacation apartments, groups of villas with gardens, private villas with pools and 2 hotels are spread across the entire island. The accommodation is divided into different zones, so the distance to the beach varies. The resort has a reception, sports and water sports center, several restaurants, cafes, gelaterias, bars, pizzeria, supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, butcher, hairdresser, jeweler, clothing stores, beauty center in the golf hotel and marina. Daily doctor's consultation, customer laundry, ATM. Free Wi-Fi in the villas with pool, in the Hotel Capo Nord and in public areas. Free parking at the accommodation. Day trips to Venice, Ravenna, Chioggia, Comacchio and Ferrara can be booked on site.
Location: 75 km south of Venice, 30 km south of Chioggia and 10 km east of Rosolina (mainland). Car recommended, no public transportation on the island. A free island train circulates on the island every hour from May to September.
Swimming: There are various bathing options on the island - the "Fiordi" waterway, a natural swimming pool (sea and fresh water), the pool area at the Centro Sportivo and the sea. The Centro Sportivo (open from 11.05.-08.09.2024) has a large bathing area with several swimming pools, including an Olympic swimming pool (50 × 25 m) and a children's paddling pool (not heated, fresh water). The swimming pools are supervised, bathing caps are obligatory, sun loungers and parasols by the pool are available for a fee.
The Conchiglia residential area (for apartment type S2) has its own swimming pool (unheated, unsupervised, fresh water).
On the east coast is the approx. 2.5 km long gently sloping sandy beach - 2 sections/zones (zone "Capo Nord" with beach bar and zone "Centro Sportivo") with beach service (sun loungers and parasols (subject to charge)) as well as free, public beach and separate beach section for dogs (subject to charge).
The small private beach Mare Vostrum in the south of the island has a small bar and beach service (for a fee).
Family-friendly: Low-traffic island with mini and maxi club (4-12 years), junior club (from 13 years), indoor playroom, entertainment at the sports center (May-September), children's playgrounds, aviary, plenty of space to play, Albarellaland adventure park and Acqua Splash water park.
Leisure/sport: The island is best explored by bike. Free of charge: Fitness center, aquafit, Zumba, aerobics, yoga, volleyball, football and basketball, beach volleyball, Vita-Parcours. For a fee: bike hire with child seat, table tennis, mini golf, horse riding, 24 tennis courts, golf with license. Pedalo and stand up paddle rental at the water sports center. The sailing and surfing school offers surfing, sailing, kitesurfing and diving courses. Swimming, stand up paddle and tennis courses can also be booked on site (some of these courses only take place in July/August).
Services: The bicycles and beach service (2 sun loungers and 1 parasol from the 3rd row of the beach per accommodation; open from 11.05.-08.09.2024) are included in the price or payable on site, depending on the length of stay or accommodation category. Detailed information can be found under the respective room category.
Important information for stays from 08.09.-20.10.2024: The resort is now open until 20.10.2024. Please note that from 08.09.2024 all services will no longer be available and stores and restaurants will be closed. There are still 3 restaurants open on the island and the nearest supermarket is 12 km away. From 08.09.2024 beach service is no longer available. The sun loungers and parasols can be used free of charge (self-service). Bicycles are available free of charge.
Hotel Capo Nord
The Hotel Capo Nord with 86 rooms is located in the northern part of the island, 200 meters from the beach and has 1 buffet restaurant with outdoor area, lounge bar, reception, swimming pool with children's paddling pool (reserved for hotel guests) and some sun beds (free of charge, limited number).

Tolle Ferieninsel um einen gemütlichen Familienurlaub zu verbringen. Besonders die Verkehrsinfrastruktur hat uns sehr gefallen. Mit den Mietvelos konnten wir alle Strand, Schwimmbad und den grossen Einkaufsmarkt schnell und einfach erreichen. Auch die Animation am Abend mit Konzerten und Tanz hat uns sehr gefallen. Unbedingt Mückenspray bereit halten, die Mücken sind vor allem bei Dämmerung sehr aktiv. Im Schwimmbad wären ein paar schattenspendende Sonnenschirme sehr erwünscht gewesen. Es gibt dort nur die Möglichkeit Sonnenschirme für einen ganzen Tag zu mieten. Badekappen sind im Schwimmbad pflicht und können für 1 Euro gekauft werden.

Séjour familial à Albarella

Nous avons passé un bon séjour à Albarella. Les plages privées pour les pensionnaires de cette station étaient un point fort. La mer était chaude et calme. Ce lieu se trouve principalement occupé par des italophones. Il n'est donc pas évident pour les enfants qui ne parlent pss italien de jouer avec des autres. Ou pour les parents de nouer d'autres contacts. Il y a également énormément de moustiques. C'est terrible et c'est le principal point négatif. Le tarif de location d'un caddie de golf est trop élevée. Je pense que cette presqu'île est assez élitiste et ne conviendra pas pour une famille qui souhaite faire des vacances en toute simplicité. Si nous retournerons là-bas, ce sera une location d'un logement avec piscine ! L'accueil a été très chaleureux lors de l'enregistrement à la réception et notre appartement était très propre. Point négatif : la literie qui était très inconfortable.

Tout est très bien aménagé et accessible. Nous avions des enfants en bas âge et des petits couacs de securite pourraient etre aménagés : vélos et casques adaptés aux âges des enfants, barrière a installer dans le jardin.

Hotelzimmer in Infrastruktur ist sehr gut. Fahrzeuge müssen je nach Auslastung des Hotels ca Meter 350 von Hotel auf einer Wiese mit Bäumen abgestellt werden. Es gibt viele Sportmöglichkeiten. Schöne Fahrradtouren im Po-Delta über Dämme und Nebenstrassen z.B. nach Chioggia oder Rosolina Mare. Interessante Tier- und Vogelbeobachtungen für Tierfreunde und natürlich für Ornithologen.

About the location
The experience of the green lagoon holiday island of Albarella. It is located 75 km south of Venice, 30 km south of Chioggia and 10 km east of Rosolina (mainland). The private lagoon island can be reached from the mainland via a 10 km long causeway. This natural paradise is home to rare trees and plants as well as deer, roe deer, pheasants and many species of birds (protected). The 5 km long and 2.5 km wide flat island (2/3 of it is covered with forest) has a gently sloping sandy beach (2.5 km) on the Adriatic side. The Fiordi (waterways) and the Mare Vostrum (Fiordi Lake) are on the west side of the island. On the lagoon island there are holiday flats, groups of country houses, private villas, hotels, reception, sports and water sports centre, tennis, golf, horse riding and much more.
Directions
By car:
From Swiss border Chiasso motorway A9 to Milan, motorway A4 Milan-Venice, exit Verona - motorway Transpolesana direction Rovigo, continue towards the Adriatic Sea - Loreo - Rosolina - 11 Km causeway to Albarella. Alternative route: Padova Est exit - Strada Romea direction Ravenna - Chioggia - Rosolina - 11 Km causeway to Albarella.
Car required, no public transport to the island. A free island train circulates on the island every hour from May to September, bicycles recommended on the island.
