Overview
The facility
The Petalon vacation resort is located on the peninsula of the same name between Vrsar and the Koversada Naturist Park. The resort, which extends in terraces over the hill of the wooded headland, has terraced houses with 176 bungalow rooms and 48 apartments. Buffet restaurant, aperitif bar, "Basilico Pizza Pasta" restaurant on the beach, pool bar, newspaper and souvenir store, small supermarket, cash machine. The center of Vrsar can be reached via a pedestrian path (approx. 10 minutes' walk). Free Wi-Fi.
Location: Directly by the sea, 800 m south of Vrsar on the Petalon peninsula. Car recommended.
Bathing: Small rocky beach with bathing plateaus and a small pebble bay. Swimming pool (not heated, open approx. from mid-May to mid-September, depending on the weather) with separate children's pool, sun loungers and parasols by the pool free of charge, on the beach for a fee.
Family-friendly: mini club, mini disco, evening programs and entertainment for children and teenagers (daily from mid-June to mid-September, reduced offer in low season), playroom, playground.
Leisure/sports: Sports center, 12 tennis courts, multi-purpose sports fields (table football, basketball, volleyball), table tennis, minigolf, bike rental, massage facilities, hairdresser.

Beautiful nature, sea, diverse beaches, many walking trails, good food and friendly staff. However, the accommodations need to be more clean and various defects in them should be fixed regularly.

Posto a dire poco incantevole. Due piccole note: 1) abbiamo trovato addetta alla pulizia che riposava sul nostro letto guardando il cellulare 2) abbiamo chiesto il late check out di domenica in bassissima stagione. Ci è stato proposto a un prezzo superiore a quello della notte con colazione! Avremmo pagato volentieri per poterci trattenere fino al primo pomeriggio… ma la proposta ad un prezzo più alto del pernotto (anche considerando la stagione!) ci è sembrata assurda!

Struttura grande con ampi spazi, ben tenuta anche se ancora non a pieno regime perché a inizio stagione. Buona varietà cibi al buffet, personale gentile e disponibile. Alloggio comodo, pulito e fornito di tutto il necessario.

Camera a 3 letti di cui uno in poltrona letto molto piccolo (camera 155). Camera senza acqua calda e quindi con doccia non utilizzabile. Solo dopo 24 ore ci hanno fatto cambiare camera. La seconda camera n.537 non era pulita (abbiamo contato 20 ragni presenti in camera). Abbiamo quindi richiesto di cambiare camera. La terza camera (546) era poco pulita e l'acqua calda era di color marrone e quindi con doccia inutilizzabile. Solo alla mattina del terzo giorno abbiamo potuto fare una doccia. Probabilmente non sono state fatte le necessarie pulizie a seguito della chiusura invernale (inclusa l'apertura dell'acqua calda per pulire i tubi). NON accettabile

About the location
Vrsar is one of the most beautiful towns in Istria. In front of Vrsar there is a chain of 18 green islands. Vrsar, which was called Ursaria by the Romans and was formerly a fishing and farming village, has a romantic atmosphere and plenty of sights. The important tourist centre is known for its water springs and numerous restaurants.
Directions
By car: Italian highways to Trieste, then follow the signs for "Slovenia/Koper/Capodistria" to the end of the highway. Follow the signs to "Capodistria" and cross the border between Italy/Slovenia "Skofije". Before Koper turn right towards Porec/Pula, continue to the border crossing Slovenia/Croatia "Dragonja/Kastel". Continue in the direction of Buje-Porec (E751). In Porec continue in the direction of Vrsar, after approx. 6 km you will reach the village of Funtana. In Funtana, continue in the direction of Vrsar. After approx. 3 km you have arrived in Vrsar, follow the signs for the Petalon apartments.
