Our motto is: everyone should be able to take part fully and on equal terms in society, regardless of their social or ethnic backgrounds, their age, gender or individual capabilities. Reka is committed in the long term

At least 50% of our Holiday Resorts in Switzerland are barrier-free. With each of our renovations and new building projects we aim to achieve this goal. We are constantly eliminating physical obstacles in our housing, access routes and pathways, playgrounds and other areas. We are making our accommodation wheelchair and walking-aid accessible to guarantee mobility. Travel planning is facilitated in the run-up to holidays as digital accessibility is also one of our priorities. With our website, in the medium term, we are targeting Label A Certification for «Basic Accessibility Requirements, Top Priority».

Wheelchair-bikes: Explore the area with your carer on a bike. A favourite ride is along the pedestrian high street in the centre of Follonica. Smooth-running bikes can be rented at the bike station. They are sponsored by the Cerebral Foundation.
Breakwaters : Special structures have been built to protect you from high waves coming in from the open sea.
All room doors in wheelchair-accessible facilities are ca. 90 cm wide and have no thresholds.

Barrier-free with the JST electric wheelchair

Reka is extending the concept of barrier-free holidays. Half of its Swiss Holiday Resorts should be barrier-free by the middle term. Whenever we undertake renovations and new buildings, we make a point of avoiding physical obstacles with a view to keeping access free for people with walking aids and wheelchairs. We also endeavour to promote mobility in the holiday facilities’ surrounding areas. In partnership with experienced organizations – such as, for example, the Cerebral Foundation – Reka is financing and implementing a groundbreaking project: in selected locations all-terrain electric wheelchairs are available for rent. These powerful ‘trailblazers’ are easy to handle and enable guests to undertake extended excursions into the natural environment, alone or accompanied. They are not only for Reka guests, but are publicly available via a share system. On-site or online you’ll find attractive route suggestions for discovery tours. You can also book your JST Mountaindrive wheelchair in advance quite simply online.
